John B. West
practices in the areas of tax law, corporate law, business transactions
and estate planning.
John is licensed to practice in the States of Georgia, South
Carolina and Tennessee.
He is a member of the Augusta, Tennessee
and the American Bar Associations, and has served on the State Bar of
Georgia Corporate Code Revision Committee and on the Young Lawyers of
Augusta Law Day Committee. John is also a member of the Augusta
Estate Planning Council.
John received his B.A. from the University
of Georgia, and his J.D. from
Vanderbilt University School of Law. After graduating from law
school, John served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Holly M. Kirby
of the Tennessee Court of Appeals. In 2004, John earned his LL.M.
(Master of Laws) in taxation from Boston University School of Law.
John is active in the Augusta
community and gives his time to several non-profit and charitable
organizations. He is a member of
the Exchange Club of Augusta, the Augusta Symphony League and the Shield
Club of Augusta. He is a graduate
of Leadership Augusta’s Class of 2007, and serves on the Leadership
Augusta Board of Directors. He is
also a Board member of the Augusta
Chapter of the UGA Alumni Association and the Augusta Ballet.
John is married to Lee Blanton West. They have two children.
