Taylor practices
in the area of general civil litigation with an emphasis in medical
malpractice defense, products liability, insurance defense and trucking
litigation. Mr. Taylor’s
practice, however, varies to the extent that in recent years he has been
involved in complex truth in lending litigation, defending an accused in
a high profile death penalty case and in white collar criminal
litigation.
Mr. Taylor has tried cases in Federal and State Courts in
both Georgia
and South Carolina in areas
of medical malpractice, products liability, contract litigation,
insurance defense, trucking litigation, banking litigation, construction
litigation, banking issues, contract disputes and criminal
litigation. In addition, Mr.
Taylor has represented physicians before the Composite State Board of
Medical Examiners in Georgia
and the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners in South
Carolina.
Mr. Taylor is admitted to practice before the 11th
Circuit Court of Appeals, the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and
Northern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the
Fourth Circuit, the Georgia Supreme Court and the Georgia Court of
Appeals.
Mr. Taylor is married and has three sons. He is a member of the Holy Trinity
Greek Orthodox Church and past president of the church parish
council. In addition, Mr. Taylor
has been active with the Georgia - Carolina Boy Scouts Council, acting as
den leader for several years. In
addition, Mr. Taylor is a member of the North
Augusta, South Carolina
Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association, Defense
Research Institute and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Taylor received his BA degree in 1981 from the University
of Georgia. He earned his Juris
Doctorate Degree Cum Laude in 1988 from Mercer
University. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Mercer
Law Review and served on the Managing Editor’s staff of the Law
Review in 1987-88. He co-authored
the article Lynch v. Waters:
Tolling Georgia’s Statute of Limitations for Medical Malpractice,
38 Mercer Law Review 1987.
