Wm. Hale Barrett practices in the areas of corporate and
business law.
Mr. Barrett is a member of
the American Bar Association, State Bar of Georgia (Chairman, Corporate
and Banking Section, 1975-1976) and Augusta Bar Association (President
1973), and Fellow, American Bar Foundation. He is listed in the
"Best Lawyers in America".
Mr. Barrett has served as
lead counsel in connection with numerous public offerings, corporate
mergers, acquisitions, major financings and regional commercial and
residential developments.
He has served as corporate
counsel to many of the leading business organizations in the region.
Mr. Barrett was admitted
to the Georgia Bar in 1954. He earned his B.S. degree from Washington & Lee University in 1950 and his LL.B. degree from the University of Georgia in 1955. He was a member of Phi Delta Phi and
Phi Beta Kappa.
Mr. Barrett's community
activities include being chancellor of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and service on numerous
charitable boards.
He is married to the
former Lelia DuPre
and they have three grown children.
