William J. Keogh, III maintains a general civil trial practice with an emphasis on commercial litigation, construction litigation, and eminent domain disputes.

Mr. Keogh has trial experience on both the federal and state court levels. He is admitted to practice before the trial and appellate courts in the State of Georgia, as well as the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He has also appeared before arbitration panels and various court-appointed special masters.

Mr. Keogh's practice has centered upon the resolution of business and construction disputes including federal, state and private construction projects; contract and business disputes; trade secret and business appropriation claims; and class action defense. He also has a broad eminent domain practice, having represented both condemnors and condemnees in jury trials and special master proceedings. Mr. Keogh's appellate work includes research and authorship of a petition for certiorari granted by the United States Supreme Court. Lewis v. Brunswick Corp., 522 U.S. 978, 118 S.Ct. 439 (1997). He also has experience in addressing claims of environmental property damage and governmental liability. Mr. Keogh has been a panelist at several statewide seminars, speaking on the topics of eminent domain and construction lien law.

Mr. Keogh is a member of the American and Georgia Bar Associations, as well as the Augusta Bar Association. He is a past president of the Augusta Young Lawyers Association (1998) and is a representative for the 10th District in the Younger Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia (1996 - present). He is active in local civic organizations including the Augusta Rotary Club, and is a graduate of the Leadership Augusta Program (1994-1995).

Mr. Keogh earned his B.A. in 1988 from Duke University, where he majored in both Political Science and History. He received his J.D. in 1991 from Emory University, where he was a member of the editorial board of the Emory International Law Review.

He and his wife, Colette, have a daughter born in August of 2000, and a son born in April of 2004.
